What is Teosyal?Teosyal is a hyaluronic gel that is injected into the skin, to support the structure of the skin, preventing and treating lines, wrinkles, and rehydrating the dermis. Teosyal should only be administered by a medical practitioner, trained in the technique of dermal fillers. Who makes Teosyal?Swiss made Teosyal is manufactured in the heart of Geneva by the biotechnology company Teoxane. Their research and development department have created 7 unique products and continue to invest in the development of new products. How does Teosyal work?Teosyal is a non-animal hyaluronic acid, which resembles the natural hyaluronic acid of the body. By the time we reach the age of forty the level of hyaluronic acid in the body is greatly depleted and the first sign of aging are evident. Teosyal combats the signs of aging by replacing the lost hyaluronic acid, plumping the skin and diminishing wrinkles. What does a treatment involve?No skin test is required, as this is not an animal derived product. A topical anaesthetic is often applied to the skin prior to injection to make the treatment more comfortable. The Teosyal is injected into the area with a very fine needle instantly lifting the skin, defining lips and volumising the face. Because Teosyal is a very pure product there is very little ‘down time’ and patients can normally resume their daily activities. How long does Teosyal last in the face?Teosyal is a homogenous, non permanent, gel which feels soft and natural in the face. (No lumps or bumps) Teosyal usually lasts 6-12 months depending on the area and the severity of the wrinkle. Teosyal Kiss treatment for the lips, two treatments a year is usually required but can last longer in some patient. Anti-aging, skin rejuvenation treatments used to improve skin texture of the face, hands neck and décolleté usually require a course of treatments, then one treatment every 3-4 months. Can Teosyal be used in conjunction with other treatments?Teosyal can be used in conjunction with other treatments. We would recommend that the skin is completely healed following laser or peel treatments, your medical practitioner will advise you on this. Are there any side effects with the Treatment?During your consultation prior to treatment your practitioner should outline any risk, or potential risks associated with aesthetic procedures. The typical events which are associated with dermal fillers are redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site, which will all resolve spontaneously.
