Pre-treatment

• Patient should begin using the Theraderm Skin Renewal System twice daily, 2-4 weeks prior to the peel procedure. The system will begin repairing the skin surface even before the peel is done.

• Patient should avoid sun exposure, and should use a sunscreen with an SPF 30. This is to ensure that the patient’s skin is not red or irritated before the peel, thus reducing the chances of hyperpigmentation.

• It is not necessary to clean the skin surface with acetone or alcohol, but these can be used for further cleansing of deep wrinkle lines and crease lines, which allows for a slightly deeper peel in those areas.

• Please note that if the skin is rubbed with acetone, some exfoliation occurs pre-peel, and the peel solution will cause erythema or redness associated with a deeper peel earlier in those areas.

Cautions & Contra indications

• The LA Peel is contra indicated during pregnancy.

• Patients with an allergy to Aspirin
• Should not be used while a patient has an active herpes lesion
• Retin A should be discontinued two weeks before an LA Peel
• Ro Accutane should be discontinued at least 3 months prior to an LA Peel
